Tried to Like It
I finally watched this entire movie the other night. I didn't before because everyone who saw it, male or female, said it was horrible. I wanted to have an open mind before watching it, I did not want all the bad reviews too influence me.
Unfortunately they were correct. The movie really has no plot, it's borderline boring, and Elizabeth Berkley cannot act her way out of a paper bag. I was amazed Kyle Michgulan and Gina Gershon, with their great talent would even do such trash.
I even asked my little brother, who is 22 and loves the ladies about it, he said him and his buddies watched it and laughed their asses off, he said it was stupid and disgusting, he mentioned the part about when she asked that black dancer friend of hers to "go ahead check I'm on my period"! And he DID! That was gross and skanky and very disgusting, my brother said that part should of really been left out.
Its a shame she did this movie, my brother pointed out she was a nice pretty girl until she lowered herself in this stripper movie, also a good point he brought up, it seems like whenever a woman does a movie like this, her career really suffers, look at Demi Moore in "Striptease" she fell off the planet after that flop, and her marriage ended, same thing with Darryl Hannah and Marissa Tomei, after playing strippers, sad because they are good actresses, unlike Berkley, especially Demi.
The ending was the worst, but at least the train wreck was over, her attacking that singer was SO unrealistic, and what was with the red lipstick they put on her nipples?? Not Sexy, just stupid and garish, and how she was hitchhiking the guy who stold her suitcase just happened to be driving by. I can understand now all the negative reviews. If you want a great movie that you will love try "Arlington Road" great acting and movie, I watched it after "show-skanks" The real shame is Elizabeth Berkley ruined her career, but how do you ever know? Bad tasteless movie, and again I wanted too like it.
