Hopkins was Oliver Stone's 4th choice

1.Jack Nicholson - declined
2.Warren Beatty - declined
3.Tom Hanks - declined
4.Anthony Hopkins - accepted

Jack would have been good, I wonder why he declined. Tom Hanks seems like he would have been too young so alot of make up would have been involved to make him look older. Hopkins did good though. I bet Tommy Lee Jones could have nailed it as well.

1. He wouldve been a great choice but no matter how good I still think he wouldve been second to Hopkins as Hopkins made this film and character like no other. Hopkins is also a superior actor.
2. He wouldnt have pulled it off and wouldnt have been good either.
3. Good actor but he's no Nixon.
4. Best Choice. Stone Lucked in. Because Hopkins should be No.1 in everyone's list and had any of top choices been accepted no matter what the outcome of the box office or critiques. This film wouldve been inferior.
