at a fast food place, and coming home to parents who couldn't care less how my day had gone

I grew up in a smaller town, maybe this is how it is in a bigger town

But surely there are others like me who at their age are working most of the time?

Who wants to watch that? But seriously, as many responsible young people there are, there are the others. I knew a lot of them, but really didn't hang with them much.
