Casper - Consensual or Rape? - Guys Only

The last seen were casper wakes up in the middle of the night to find some booze and takes a seat on the couch besides jenny. Completely wasted, he tries to wake jenny up for sexual favours but she doesn't wake up. He then begins removing her jeans and then her underwear. He then sticks in it and starts thrusting her. In the act, jenny mutters "no" while casper calms her by saying "it's just me, casper", "it's ok, shh". 3-4min in the act, the screen turns black.

Here's what i think.

Jenny didn't want sex. Even if she knew casper, i don't think she'd agree for consensual sex. If you consider her side of the story, then SHE WAS RAPED!!

part 1: Casper, i think had feelings for jenny or maybe he cared for her well being. He knew telly's game and hence knew what had happened to jenny. This was clear when jenny arrives at steven's house in search for telly and finds casper in the bathtub. She asks him about telly whereabouts and casper tells her to forget about telly. When she insists, he tells her that he was fu@king a girl right now in the next door.

Hence, during the couch scene, he asks jenny to wake up for sex as if it'll be consensual. When he understands that she was high, he then forgets about waking her up and instead starts having sex with her while in her intoxicated state. To him, it was just plain simple sex. The word "Rape" must have never crossed in his mind.

I would like to ask the guys here. Put yourself in caspers position. What did you did according to you(ie, casper)? Do you consider differentiating "rape" and "getting sex"?

If you differentiate between "rape" and "getting sex" then you would be saying that HE DIDN'T RAPE HER.

If you consider both "getting sex" and "rape" the same thing then you would be saying HE RAPED HER.

Maybe it was rape, but being in the age Casper was in in the movie (although my life style is COMPLETELY different) I can say that I probably would have done the same :/ But I wouldn't feel good afterwards.

Other than not giving permission, it's rape to have sex with a person when they are underage, asleep, intoxicated or mentally disabled. Besides saying "no" several times, she was three of them. She was like quadruple raped, whether it was was Casper's intention or not.

"Oh, my God. Bear is driving! How can that be?!"

The whole "rape is not about sex, but power" thing refers to the REASON behind rape. It never changed the definition of rape.

I'm a girl... but i really do understand how boys feels, and think.. i have 3 brothers.. so i know... let's think.. for the majority of boys.. they usually don't want to rape anyone... but as we see casper is REALLY DRUNK AND HIGH, he asked jenny, because at first he didn't want to rape her... but as she didn't answer, it was for him like "oh, well, it's not my fault that she didn't wake up"

So it was a rape.. but he didn't see it like a rape; because if jenny had waked up.. and told him no, he wouldn't have had sex with her.. so probable for him.. was more like... SURPRISE SEX.. but for me.. was RAPE.

I also think rape, because that "loophole" that she technically didn't tell him no is in no way an acceptable argument. No way in hell I could ever do that (but that's me).

i rewatched the movie after reading the debate on here, and initially i even agreed slightly with those that said that if was an orgy and everyone was having sex with each other or that it was a normal thing for casper jenny and anyone else in the crew to have sex with one another, but that's not the case. it wasn't really an orgy and it even showed various guys getting shut down by the girls at the party. sure they were all trying to "get theirs" but when the girls said no, they didn't try and rape them. Another thing, Jenny only had sex with one other guy, which is kind of a major point of the movie, so it's not possible that she and casper had some type of history of hooking up casually, so yeah no doubt about it that it was rape. not that it even seemed to me that there was a doubt to begin with.

th1a90 even if it was an orgy and Jenny had sex with Casper and loads of other guys before it would still be rape. Having sex with someone not give you the green light to have sex with them whenever you like regardless of whether you have gotten their consent. Nobody ever has the right to have sex with an unconscious person unless that person has given them permission. Even at an orgy people only have the right to sex with whoever consents which she couldn't.

To whoever said that he was out of it so they both couldn't consent so it wasn't rape are you saying a drunk person can f ck you while you're asleep and they didn't do anything wrong cause they didn't can't consent.

People might think Casper deserved HIV but remember now every girl he rapes or has sex with is now going to get it too.
