Is it really WRONG to outright hate or DESPISE perpetrators of violent crime?

Including like that of Matthew Poncelet in this movie? Like, obviously we ought to feel they were wrong and ought to be punished, but is it really wrong to feel hateful towards and about them and wish them painful death, even if we know they are guilty?

And even if, whatever that means to a lot of people, if they also happen to be MEN, like HERE? (A subject which for years I as a man both thought and wrote a LOT about in here.)

And does it really, and I mean REALLY, "lower us to THEIR level" if we feel this way? Even with their being legal flaws and victim suffering and even with the outright fact that totally protecting such individuals and allowing them to escape justice is (well, OBVIOUSLY!) 'wrong'.

And does religion also MEAN anything here like with Susan Sarandon's character? And that's not even touching the issue of death penalty overall either.

What do we think, thanks.

P.S. And the fact that certain people feel this way ANYWAY, is that an indication of it being 100 per cent CORRECT? Or just a statement about certain people having certain personalities and appreciate acting tough or can't help it, so its still, however strong, an opinion more than fact. Correct?

No, it's not wrong to loath and hate filthy, evil, disgusting rapists and murderers like the piece of shit in this movie. In fact, it is appropriate and proper. By their behavior, they forfeit their right to respect, sympathy, and life.

But Sister Helen had a different view, apparently, and nobody challenged so much her views.
