Carriage chase stunt question

I'm puzzled about the shot where Morgan dives out a window, rolls off a roof and lands sitting in the carriage. They show it in slow motion, and still, it looks pretty good even with today's CGI. Of course they didn't have anything like today's CGI, so I'm really curious. Does anyone know how they did that?

They used magic.

Agreed...breathtaking, one of the very few moments in movies when Ive been left utterly amazed at an effect.

The answer is in the trivia section.

I just read this on the IMDb trivia page:

Renny Harlin is famous for pushing actors to do their own stunts whenever possible. While promoting the film, Geena Davis appeared on talk shows with clips of her doing stunts over and over (including one take where she fell out of the window too soon, rolled down the roof and under the carriage) and explained the bruises and injuries she sustained while filming

How crazy is that??? Especially considering that the director was married to Geena Davis at the time.

I have the same question for years, I can't figure it out. I wish Corridor Crew can analyze it. From the director commentary, he was very proud for the scene, but he didn't reveal the secret:

Morgan Adams (Davis) jumps through a window at 27:18 and lands in a moving horse-drawn carriage beneath her. It’s show in a single take and clearly Davis in the carriage as it rides towards camera, so Harlin adds “I defy you to figure out how that was done.” He says there’s “a little magic” there, and it’s clear that something digital is afoot as the stunt person hits the carriage seat and then flips the hair back to reveal Davis. It was 1995, though, so color me impressed.
