Even though there isn't obviously another soul for hundreds, maybe even thousands, of yards anywhere near Red I like how he still looks around when he first finds the rock and loot Andy buried and left for him.

shareI thought that gesture tied back to the way he couldn't urinate unless he asked for permission. Prison life made him a little edgy, full of tension. There really was no reason for him to look around that way

After years upon years of noisy, routine prison life Red is sitting in this field, beside a beautiful oak tree and everything is so peaceful, so quiet. Just the sounds of insects and birds. Such a beautifully made film.
