How the hell is Tommy, Pumpkinhead's son?

Osie said his "momma was normal, but his pappa was the one they call Pumpkinhead."

How the hell is this? Did Pumpkinhead at some point rape one of his victims instead of killing her? Did this woman have a love affair with Pumpkinhead? Maybe the guy who had Pumpkinhead summoned had a pregnant wife, and this ****ed with the fetus?

It doesn't make any sense.

reply

I wish I could answer this, Yeah I really didn't understand that either. Does pumpkinhead reproduce?

So then how does this tommy kid become pumpkinhead??? it doesn't make any sense.

reply

Allow me to explain, and oh, i will.

Pumpkinhead is merely an evil shell for the soul of a man or women who is seeking revenge on others who have wronged them, at first the beast is just the individuals revenge incarnate, but as the killing takes place the one who summoned the beast eventually becomes it, and that is the price of revenge. (this is seen in Pumpkinhead when Ed Harley becomes the monster by the end of the film, and in Pumpkinhead:ashes to ashes when the girl in that one takes Ed Harley's place.

In pumpkinhead 2, Tommy's blood (in the vile that is stolen and spilt on mumpkinhead's body) is used to resurect the beast and "haggis" allows tommy's spirit to take revenge on those who killed him, and all in his way. Since he was already dead he didnt slowly turn into the beast, but was him right away.

And yeah i think it is pretty clear that "haggis" (the witch/woman at the flashback in the beginning) is tommy's mother, and his father was Pumpkinhead,or basically who ever was inhabiting Pumpkinhead at the time, so Tommy is not his own father, Pumpkinhead is kinda his father but its a shell anyone seeking revenge can inhabit. (Oh yeah that's as close as you can explain PH:2) to fit in with the rest.

reply

I think I got it...

The only good PH is the first one.

reply

Yeah, I kind of got it. It's still kind of an odd plot though.

reply

It's not Haggis in this one; it's Miss Osie. Is she talking about herself in the third person (as his mother)?

There is an obvious Christian metaphor at work here:
Pumpkinhead is God.
Tommy is Jesus Christ, His Son.
The fetus is the Holy Spirit.
Miss Osie is the Virgin Mary whose uterus aches as her son dies.

You cheesy lot of second hand electric donkey-bottom biters!

Kind of like how does Satan mate with a jackal and produce a human looking child in Damien Thorn (The Omen series)? Though I've never seen Satan before (and hopefully never will) so perhaps he does have some human characteristics.

An Angel in a human vessel can reproduce with a human, resulting in a Nephalim. Satan is the fallen angel Lucifer. And if you watch the Fox "news" channel, you'll find that if gay marriage is legalized, the next step in the progression will be the marriage of humans to animals. So, "when papa Satan loves mama Jackal in a very special way ...". And for the op: "when papa Pumpkinhead loves mama Haggis in a very special way ...".

Sean was reading a passage in a folk book when his wife comes in with Jenny's clothes that smell like smoke. The passage tells how the mountain folk denounced deformed children as they were believed to be the offspring of human women and vengeance demons. Not sure if it meant the actual beasts, or the corrupted human who invoked the vengeance demon.

Tommy IS Pumpkinhead, not his son. I thought that was pretty obvious.

reply

I always wondered this as well.
