Mel Gibson an underrated comedic actor?

I've always thought Mel Gibson was hillarious and not given enough credit for that. Movies like Maverick, Bird on a wire, What Women Want, and especially the Lethal Weapon movies, he cracked me up. He's like Tom Hanks, he can do drama, comedy, action, anything and be fantastic. I wish Mel would make some more movies
