THE CROW (1994) Filming Locations and the Death of Brandon Lee | Wilmington, NC | Abandoned Factory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB7pIbRyHDk

Locations for THE CROW have always been difficult to nail down. You can really only find information about the fact that they filmed at Carolco Studios (now EUE/Screen Gems) and the abandoned Ideal Cement Factory. There was no way a film studio was going to let me on the lot to make a video and I knew the factory would be hard to access. Luckily, I got SOMETHING out of it. After we got home, I read a book about the making of THE CROW which revealed a few more practical locations, so I pieced together what I could for this video. Not our typical style when it comes to locations videos, but I hope you will find out something you didn't know!
THE CROW was shot in Wilmington, North Carolina. Most of the film was done on the backlot and soundstages of what was then called Carolco Studios.

It's fascinating how the De Laurentiis family strengthens the connection between The Crow and Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. Dino's daughter, Raffaella, produced the biopic whereas Brandon was shot in what used to be Dino's studio. His studio was also used for Year of the Dragon, which featured a Hong Kong actor/gangster (Fan Mei-Sheng) who knew Bruce Lee.
