Happy kinda got screwed if you think about it...

I mean don't get me wrong, Happy was a sleaze, but he definitely got screwed by Bell. He suggests using the "friends of the program", Bell says no, then changes his mind. Happy makes it happen, helps him get a great team, gets nothing but venom from Bell the whole movie, then gets thrown under the bus in front of everyone at the end. I mean from a certain perspective he's not the antagonist he's made out to be. Pete came to him tail between his legs, then pulled a total 180. Anyways, this is a criminally underrated film, just wanted to share that.

Yep Happy got screwed. Pete didn't need to dime him out with his confession, he could have just resigned. Happy and his fellow alumni were chanting Pete's name etc. The only possible reason that you could have anything against Happy is that he bought Tony but that says more about Tony than Happy.

I definitely don't agree with Happy's point shaving scheme, but the paying players part was spot on. Those players generated billions, yet are one injury away from being on the street.

They did owe them the money!

Nowadays they just call it NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) and the money is above the table.
