OK, stole this from the notebook thread

But they listed the five movies that break your heart, My Life is so number one. Here is my list

Number one, no question about it --

My Life -- when the Dad leans in and says "better late, than never" -- I choked.

Pay it Forward -- I don't know if is so much the movie as it is the haunting "Calling all Angels" at the end.

Steel Magnolias -- Holy crap, like a roller coaster, up down, cry, scream.

The Story of Us -- Just because it is so, so real and I want to go to Chow Funs.

Terms of Endearment - I would be the manic mother screaming for my daughters shot. That just breaks me.

And even though it is not a movie, the series ending of Six Feet Under had me thinking about it for days ...

You forgot laugh - "Lasughter through tears is my favorite emotion" :)

Anyways, here's my 5:

Stepmom - Jena Malone breaks my heart every time in that scene at the end, and I had to see my mother through a cancer battle so it hits me SO hard. Thank God she survived it.

The Fox and the Hound - great story, I saw it on VHS right around the time my then-best-friend moved away (I was 3), and it just left me bawling

Steel Magnolias - my dad's diabetic and my mom couldn't even watch this movie all the way through for the first few weeks after she bought it.

not a movie but NOOZLES series finale - I was 5 when Blinky had to leave Sandy forever, and it made me cry

My Girl - they just spring that friggin' death on you out of nowhere, and it still traumatizes me every time.

...but it must be good. Ebert and Roeper gave it 2 thumbs up...

Once Around with Holly Hunter and Richard Dryfus. Very good movie. The kind of movie that's not predictable (a complete necessity for my "best" lists.) Rent it; it's great.

Okay, I don't know if I have a list of movies I cried like a baby while watching. Although I am a guy, I can put Terms of Endearment on my list, but there is one that comes to mind. I'm surprised no one has thought of it yet--Simon Birch!

A Walk To Remember - Shane West can make a girl cry...
The Notebook - no comments needed.
Wuthering Heights - The mtv version was even more emotional as everyone's love story was broken.
The episode in Charmed when Cole first dies and Phoebe is cried cuddled by her sisters.
The Horse Whisperer - the whole horse thing, then the mom falling inlove with the trainer... ah!!!

I was gonna take over the world... but then I go distracted by somethi

I loved this one: "Lorenzo's Oil".....Seen it many times and every time it can make me cry again and again! Part of it is the touching story of the little boy, the other part is the brilliant (in my opinion) acting of Susan Sarandon and Nick Nolte.....Just see it! It's worth it from beginnig to the end!!!

Lest we forget...

Harold and Maude.

And I almost hate to say it, but the last three minutes of "Saving Private Ryan" belongs in the list as well.

Series ending of Six Feet Under... They couldn't have picked a better song than "Breathe Me", just for the way the intensity of the song grows with the scenes they showed.

My Life... Damn. I still can't believe this is the same guy who was "Mister Mom" and "Johnny Dangerously"! (And Batman, for that matter!)

Just my $.02

I don't know why, but I always seem to find myself crying at Philadelphia. Especailly at the scenes with Tom Hanks in the hospital bed at the end of the film.

The Summer of My German Soldier made me cry harder than any movie I'd ever seen.

After that would be Titanic, the first Highlander, Love Story, and Terms of Endearment.
