the one scene I have a problem with, but have never seen mentioned

When Grant and Ellie reunite. He's left the kids to look for her, and at this point, it's not known that the dinosaurs can get inside. Therefore, he should assume that if she is safe, she is therefore indoors. Meaning he should start searching for her indoors. So why on earth is he standing outside, literally shouting for her, drawing attention to himself? He should be much smarter than that. Not to mention the completely random magic that allows them to actually find each other that way, and safely.
