Is that a train that he's running next to?

Yes. Personally I've never liked the poster that much as it's just Harrison Ford running next to a train. I wish they could have had a more cool poster of him running with Tommy Lee Jones and his team chasing him from behind.

yes it's hard to tell it's a train, it looks more like a subway train then a rail train

Doh. I think it is a subway train. Still, a poster that doesn't show much about the movie.

It's ok. It's better than the cliche of the hero pointing a gun at something out of frame which plagued this time period.

I liked that cliche in Die Hard with a Vengeance.

I honestly thought it was picture of him running in the grocery store next to the frozen section. I don't remember much about this movie I only saw parts of it when I was a child on the VHS. I remember there was train crash, and the part where ford jumps in the river, but that's about it.
