Reason for the restraining order

When the ex wife is acting weird with the police officer in her house, trying to explain how Bill Foster is prone to violence, she tries explaining about the restraining order (which she laughs about and makes a joke about the judge), she mutters to the cop that the RO was issued because Bill kept showing up for visitation with his daughter, at the wrong time.

Good god, this makes her even more evil than her using the prone to violence excuse!

I think it was meant to imply that he showed up at times she wasn't prepared for and it made her uncomfortable. There is usually protocol about what time visitation is. She also said he would randomly show up in the middle of the night pounding on the door waking her and possibly her daughter up and that behavior as far as I'm concerned is uncalled for. And the only reason she went with the restraining order is because the judge attempted to reassure her by saying to make "an example of him". So that's not completely on her.

I think when he makes the phone call to her after killing the Nazi is where I started to agree with her seemingly questionable motives of wanting him away. She made a foolish mistake with marrying someone like him and having a child, although so did he because of insecurities. I think it was also made clear he had a short temper and was emotionally abusive regularly. She was probably right in being skeptical in letting her daughter be around him.
