It's hard to like a movie when the main character is a major pussy. Every other scene he's getting punked out, once even in front of his girl and the whole school. And that crap monologue about being a former bully-surfer did'nt explain why he's such a puss. They should have given him an attitude, more like Thrashin.
shareHe wasn't a wimp, he just wasn't a complete meathead like the rest of the guys in town. Sad that peaceful conflict resolution is considered a negative while punching everything in sight is seen as desirable.
shareWith all those stunts he pulled off (particularly that last jump), he was easily the most badass person in the movie. Fact.
I won't deny that seeing Mitchell being intimidated by Jack and the preps is annoying, but at the end of the day he proved to be the better man (even if many don't feel that way). Btw, I don't think his surf story was BS.
