Momma Mia S7 E1 Alternative endings......

This is the one where Frasier sees Mia Preston in Nervosa and is instantly drawn to her. They end up talking and that segways into a relationship.

What Frasier does not realize right away is that Mia who is played by Rita Wilson looks just like his mother who passed away a decade a ago. Frasier is the last in the family to realize the resemblance while watching some home movies at a cottage get away with Mia, Niles and Martin.

Now for the alternative ending. Frasier was so creeped out to realize he was sexually involved with a woman who looks like his deceased mother he cannot even allow Mia to stay in the cabin for the night? He calls a cab for her.

This always bothered me. A cab to a cabin in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night!

Alternative ending 1: Mia is picked up by the cab and the driver is a sadistic sociopath who violently rapes her and then murders her. Her body is found the next afternoon lying in a ditch by the road. Her mouth is cut into a grotesque smile like the Black Dahlia.

Alternative ending 2: Frasier cannot allow Mia to leave with a cab in the middle of the night so she stays. She cannot sleep with Frasier so she sleeps with Martin. It's appropriate now! She screws his brains out for the best father's day gift ever!

Those are some strange alternative endings!

I also wondered about getting a cab way out in the woods in the middle of the night.

If I were to come up with an alternative ending of my own, I'd just make it a dream episode. Frasier wakes up at the end and tells Niles about the strange Freudian dream that he had of their late mother.

I simply can't believe that Frasier would not have noticed that Mia was a dead ringer for his late mother. If they had used a different actress in the the home movies who closely resembled Rita Wilson, then I'd buy it. But the two women were identical in appearance. I think anyone would recognize the resemblance to their mother unless of course their mother passed away when they were a toddler and had only the vaguest memories of their mom.
