Wow, that holdup scene was racist!

Scenario:

Black Basketball player needs money to bet on game. Grabs a gun and balaclava and puts a gun to a black shop keepers chest and demands money.

Turns out he knows him and tells him to take off the mask.

Instead of calling police, requests to purchase firearm for cash.

No way you could make a joke like this again, basically saying that criminality is their first instinct for all black people involved!

reply

Raymond! Is that you?

Naw, this ain't Raymond!!!

Racist? GTFOH! It was fucking hilarious then and it still is!

reply

I found it quite confronting that he put a gun to him and feared that he would shoot him once his concealed identity had been revealed.

reply

Nah, they obviously knew each other and he wasn't going to hurt him.

"Sheeeiiiit, man - well you need a gun because there's a lot of crazy motherfuckers out here... crazier than me. Gimme $300."

"I'll give you $250"

"$275"

"Fine... but now you robbin' ME!!"

Easily one of the funniest parts of the movie.

reply

I found it racist

reply

I'm just curious, what is actually "racist" about it? It's two black men having a conversation with each other. Where is the racism?

reply

That scene genuinely made me burst out laughing.

Freaking love this movie. Harrelson & Snipes are great together. Fantastic pairing!

reply

That's what they did in those days man
