Did Freddie Mercury's death help make Wayne's World such a box office success?

To put things in perspective, Freddie Mercury passed away around Thanksgiving 1991. Wayne's World was released into theaters roughly two months later. Queen's song "Bohemian Rhapsody" is of course, predominately featured in Wayne's World.

no wayne's world was pretty popular for the SNL skits way before the movie.

The song "Bohemian Rhapsody" might've had a hand in gaining the movie's success.

I think it was a win win. The movie actually helped make the song more popular with younger people who didn't really know about it and the song helped create one of the most iconic scenes in a movie in quite a while.
