The Republican Party gets it again

At the end of the movie, I luv how they empty the Republican Parties bank accounts and distribute the money to global charities.

Always the butt of jokes.

In My Fellow Americans Jack Lemmon says "You want 5 dollars for a two dollar hot dog and you wonder why the Democrats are in trouble?"

The GOP is the party of the ultra-wealthy. Of course it's wrong to steal and I don't condone what the characters did at the end of the film, but really, they were just levelling the playing field. If you do believe in playing fair however you should advocate state-funding for political parties so that it's not simply rich donors who dictate who gets into power. Everyone then starts off with the same share and no one has the upper-hand in terms of political advertising on the basis of their respective largesses. Instead it would come down purely to intelligent, convincing rhetoric and a handy thing called facts.

And to whom/where the money went to was quite 'tongue-in-cheek,' no? If I recall it was Geo. Herbert Walker Bush (Dubya's old man) who was the President and party leader at this time?

On a side note: Whistler's driving of the van during the get-away (and vocally guided by Bishop) was nothing short of implausibly insane ...for a blind guy.

Don't forget that George Bush was the reason there was a bum dying on the street. He probably had a million bucks when Jimmy Carter ran the show and then lost it all.

One thing for certain. The Right, always the butt of jokes in mainstream movies that everyone has to pay for, are a whole lot stronger than the whiners: who can hardly handle AM Radio! LOLOL

The political propaganda of this movie was absolutely eye-rolling.

reply

The majority of people watching this film felt it was valid though. Sad but true.

It is indeed sad if people get so easily brainwashed.
