That dog scene made me so sick

I sooo wanted to throw Heddy out the window when I saw that scene. I mean, to kill an innocent puppy because it wanted to go with Allie? I mean, Heddy set it up so that Buddy would like and go to Allie first, by ignoring it and waiting for Allie to come out and hold it. So Allie would let it stay.

So naturally the dog would go to her. I know its just a film, but animal cruelty scenes bother me a lot.

I know that. Hence, why I said "I know its just a film'., dimwit.

"Natural Born Killers" was just a film too, doesn't mean what you watch can't upset you.

I know what you mean. I watched this movie last night and when she killed the dog, I wanted to throw Heddy out of the window, too. How could she do that to a little puppy ? I mean, yeah, she was a psychotic bitch, but the little dog was so innocent and all that. Even though I know it was only a movie, scenes like that upset me each time I see them.
Same for example with the scene in...I think it was "The Ring". When the horse runs into the water and gets killed by the ship's screw. Terrible...

Me too!! That scene always bothers me too! Also, the 'bunny' scene in "Fatal Attraction". Why do people take their rages out on animals?? I know they are just fictional films, but you certainly hear enough real things on the news and such. Why do people hate so?

You want to throw a person out a window (albeit a fictional person) because they mistreated an animal? So what you're saying is that animals are equal to humans? LMAO.

Someone who brutally kills an animal can easily be seen as less-than-human.

I hate this scene also, always makes me so angry.

When I first saw The Ring, and the horse was killed, I really did scream and throw a fit, seeing as I am a horse rider, hah.

I really can't stand animal cruelty, and yeah it's just a movie, but it's horrible for me to watch.

what makes me angry is that people die in movies all the time (and are murdered) but when ONE LITTLE FRIGGIN ANIMAL gets harmed or killed in a movie everyone goes crazy. Animals are nothing in comparison to humans, and you animal rights activists can kiss my you-know-what.

If it was just any Animal then yes, but Dogs are truly a Mans best friend and I'd value a Dog over a Paedophile or a Rapist any day.

It is only a film, and the Puppy wasn't really harmed but then again there are a lot of Murderers and brutal Scum out there who are nothing compared to innocent Dogs.

Shut your mouth heartless .... because u think animals are nothing not everybody think the same way ok? There are people with hearts not like u!

And animals sometimes can be exactly as a human and even better companie, they dont lie to us, critizes us, get tired of us and speak bad behind our back ..like most of the people nowadays so ...

I hate that people are saying animals are nothing compared to humans. Animals (and I mean domestic ones) are sweet and loving and don't deserve abuse just because they are not as smart as humans.
My dogs are nicer than most people I know and I am sure any other dog lover would agree.

WHO CARES???

PEOPLE WATCH ALL SORTS OF FILMS, ONES THAT ARE RATED 18 FOR HORRIFIC SCENES, AND COMPLAIN ABOUT ANIMAL CRUELTY?

WHAT ABOUT RAPE AND MURDER? DON'T PEOPLE FIND THOSE UPSETTING? I'LL TELL YOU THEY'RE MUCH MORE TRIGGERING AND TRAUMATIC - SOME PEOPLE HAVE REAL PROBLEMS.

HURTING ANIMALS IS NOTHING COMPARED TO HURTING PEOPLE.

STUPID MORONS.

And you're almost too stupid to reply to.

I would gladly throw a human being out of a window if they killed my dog. No problemo. Call me crazy. I could care less. I love my dog and he is a part of my family. If someone was sick enough to kill my pet on purpose, in a psychotic manner...pass me the gun and I will pull the trigger on them. Of course human life is valuable and precious but I do not have respect or care for a human-being who could kill an animal in THAT kind of way. I'm talking psychos. I'm not saying I would kill someone who ran my dog over on accident or someone who hunts deer or slaughters cows or what not...I'm only referring to sociopathic monsters who kill animals for pleasure-those people, I could kill.

More than equal. They aren't capable of evil, very unlike humans. And humans are only animals as well.

If you don't like doggy deaths then steer clear of

The Fly II
The Dambusters
Funny Games
Alien 3
Cujo

reply

Also steer clear of:

I Am Legend
The Thing (1982)
American Psycho

reply

And almost all Stephen King movies/books feature animal cruelty/death. I hated the scene where she kicked the dog too.

reply

I just saw the Fly II the other day and hate the dog scene!

reply

[deleted]

Yeah, it was only hinted at that she killed the dog.

By the way, if this upsets you, never ever ever ever see "Cannibal Holocaust." IT is a brilliant film but animals actually die in it. I should maybe say "and" instead of "but" really.

I did sixty in five minutes once...

reply

I'm not a big pet person, but that was just so sad and sick... poor animal caught up in someones drama. Psychos hurting people and animals. Ugly indeed!

reply

I agree. It actually really really bothers me, in every film that animal cruelty is in. Like, why exactly do they need to show their "power" by killing innocent creatures? And it seems to be in every film. Ugh.

reply

My question is, how did they do the "kicking the dog away" trick?...you know, the scene where Heddy's eating ice cream and kicks Buddy. I know there had to have not been any animal cruelty going on, but that was the most realistic-looking kick. Anybody have any idea how the effects people did it?

reply

it was a shove not kick. she puts her foot on the dog then pushes it away, it wouldn't have hurt the dog at all.

I always find it morally distasteful when people are more distressed over pain to animals than pain to humans.

Oh, shut the f@ck up. Humans are the ones who do all the dirty deeds in this world - so I think it's often quite easy to have less empathy for humans.

^^ Not all of them. I work in animal rescue, and believe me, I see the ugliness of humans every single day.
