[spoiler]We find out in the final sequence that the Royal Duke of Ireland has a mole and it's his own coordinator/event planner. If that was the case this whole time they could have assassinated him or taken them hostage earlier in the film. This whole elaborate story of trying to win revenge for Sean's brothers death while nabbing the Royal one more time just comes across as contrived[/spoiler]. Anyone else agree?

shareNorthern Ireland. The IRA extremists refer to him as a Royal but after looking it up he's Lord William Holmes, Minister of State for Northern Ireland. So while he's an important government minister he's not royal at all. I guess the movie makers goofed?
Either way, the coordinator who works for Lord Holmes is a mole who works with Patrick's rogue organization. He could have easily coordinated an assassination without all the preamble.
