do men find Celia attractive?

i was wondering that b/c i found her very creepy. Not by her appearance but her personality. personality always affects a peron's appeal to me, but many guys will overlook personality flaws for a nice face and/or body?

I didnt see why Crow's character was so attracted to her. He was hot when he was younger (not so bad now either - he's still young), and could have hooked up with many women. I thought maybe it was b/c she threw herself at him and he knew she would be an easy lay, but then he fell in love with her? oy - she's a jackel

She had a nice rack.

Not that nice. Her eyebrows were too thick and she needed a tan.

She was most especially attractive when she smiled. Her personality was kind of creepy and she scared me a little but in terms of her looks, well, I think like most Australian women she's too heavy into makeup, but very attractive. It would be interesting to see her with long hair.

Celia's personality was a major turn off. And her face and overall appearance were plain and frumpy, though most or all of that could be fixed with a makeover (new hairstyle, clothes and makeup).

However... when she went topless... WOW!!!, beautiful skin, shapely back, and her breasts were... to quote Martin... exceptional!!!

I believe that most guys would not have found Celia very appealing, but if she dropped her shirt and bra, most of us would have been like Andy and fallen right into her bed.

The problem here is that Russell Crowe is terribly miscast in the part of Andy. That becomes painfully obvious in the park scene where Andy says all that stuff like "I'm a black sheep/loner/loser/outcast with no girlfriend or career & I have a face that nobody trusts & I feel comfortable around you because you're blind and can't see me". The role of Andy screams for an unattractive actor who seems like a nice guy but has one of those unappealing faces that people don't like. The young Russell Crowe is a handsome strapping young man who is just too appealing to play a lonesome loser. And the result is that it wasn't believable that an Andy who looks like Russell Crowe would have fallen in love with Celia. Banged her, yes, fallen in love, no.

I love this film, but that's the one problem I have with it.

If Moorehouse was really going for the "lonesome loser" type, she could have cast someone more fitting. She could have cast someone uglier and skinnier. She could have dressed him in more outsider-ish clothes. She could have had him beaten up without fighting back. She could have decided against including the condoms, and the scene where he so casually and knowingly describes a girl's breasts.

Andy's impulsive, and outspoken, and confident, and everything about him, from the dinosaur in the car to the way he holds his cigarette when he's bringing coffee to Martin screams 'regular guy with a big heart'. I don't buy that he was in love in Celia, and I don't think that anybody was supposed to - it was an excuse to Martin, with no other action to back it up. Would he have left Celia's house had he truly loved her?

She had nice boobs... Let's just say she didn't have the best face in the world... She was definitely a devil woman, which means she probably would have been really good in the sack.

I'd hit it... Probably....Okay, maybe.

she wasn't that bad looking. I definitely would have done the same thing Andy did if given the chance.

I thought Celia was very attractive.

I liked her hairstyle and she had a very shapely round bottom.

I think she was very sexually repressed and would have been dynamite in bed as a lot of women like that are.

she was sexy in that librarian/teacher sort of way. which is not a bad thing.

I won't lie,
I'd hit it...

Yes she is very attractive. It is easy to forget how movies are mostly filled with extremely beautiful people so that the appeal of one who is more typical is questioned. But her appeal here is enhanced by her extraordinary personality: a combination of cold aloofness, slyness and arrogance with hidden vulnerability.

Andy was like a rabbit in her headlights who she manipulated very easily. Although he uses the phrase "in love" to describe their relationship to Martin, you don't believe him even as he speaks the words. He is trying to justify himself when caught out by Martin and possibly even convince himself that he is in a relationship of equals. The look on Celia's face is terrific - she is totally focussed on Martin's reaction. Russel Crowe may be an attractive man but his character in this movie shows no sign of being able to hook up with women easily. He is a gormless sod really and this is Crowe's most endearing performance.

Are you guys kidding? Some people sense of beauty got so distorted these times that sometimes if a woman in media doesn't look like a supermodel with hours of makeup and photoshop work, she's not beautiful.

Of course she's attractive. She's definitely hot, much more than a lot of women I see around in hollywood movies and get praised by the media. The character's personality fits perfectly her appearance: that distant but authoritative look, she seems to always be in control and will do anything to get what she wants.

completely agree with pedro. are you idiots just sheep trying to be clever or maybe just blind. this woman is very pretty, the shortcut makes her even hotter.

reply

I agree with this completely. It's weird how people judge her, as if the housekeeper should look like Cindy Crawford. I found her very alluring and giving off a sexy vibe from the get go. I thought the actress did a great job.
