The character of 'Hurricaine'

My late father-in-law was the sheriff of Monroe county, where parts of the movie were filmed, for over thirty years. Bill Paxton shadowed him for several weeks before filming & based his portrayal of "Hurricaine" after him. My husband was 10 years old at the time & says that Paxton & Thorton could not have been nicer guys & even ate dinner at their house. I have always thought that was so cool & just wanted to share
