Discovered it on HBO Max. Great movie. I’ve read some of the other comments. Today it is weird to see a movie with a 17 year old smoking so much, but at the time and in the circumstances, I’m sure many teens would have. But given the absurd plot, realism isn’t exactly what the movie tries to convey. Christina Applegate Does a great job. Hard to believe she was only 19. She does seem like she could be in her mid to late 20s, although admittedly young looking for that age. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I loved it when it first came out. I still love it today. Kenny was my favorite character followed by Melissa, and Christina Applegate was so hot.

I wasn’t born yet when the movie came out. I checked it out in part because I’m watching the Netflix show Dead to Me, which has Christia Appelgate once again playing someone who has to deal with a sudden death. Despite her health issues, she’s aged well. Fun to go back and see her near the start of her career.

This is when America was much better.
The 80s and 90s. The music and movies. So much imagination...trump and fun

People seemed so much happier when more people smoked.

Saw it recently for the first time in decades. This movie definitely holds up and I see it so much differently now. Lots more innuendo - pretty subtle and tasteful though. Also I really see how she is stuck between 2 worlds, kid and adult. I didnt see that when I was a kid

I loved these movies that bordered between a kids movie and felt more adult like. I just wonder what it would look like if Hollywood would try to remake today.
