1990's Rocky V was a low point for the Rocky franchise, while the spin-off Creed re-energized the series - but why was it so successful?
Creed was terrible (as a movie and overall concept)
The central character is an arrogant, permanently-frowning, ingrate, incapable of eliciting any audience sympathy. The movie is just a blackwashing of the 'Rocky' franchise. Stallone (the only 'draw' in this miserable movie) was much better in 'Rocky Balboa' (and deserved an Oscar-nod for that instead of this)
I read a lot of positive online reviews for Creed....but don't actually know *anyone* that enjoyed it (Black Panther is another example of this)
