The later part of this movie likely takes place during Christmas 1989/New Years Day 1990, so how would they be able to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation on TV if the movie was released during the holiday season 1989? Maybe Rocky knew someone at Warner Bros. who gave them an early VHS copy.
