After Seagal wakes up from the coma, wouldn't he be charged with murder?

When the crooked cops kill Seagal's wife and think they kill Seagal in the beginning, they make it look like a murder-suicide. When Seagal was rushed to the hospital and kept alive, there was no evidence that it was corrupt cops who did the shooting. It's not like O'Malley saying, "I swear Mason Storm didn't do it!" would've made them just drop the case.

So, wouldn't Seagal have been charged with murder when he woke up from the coma? It's not like Seagal had any proof of the corrupt cops yet. There should have been at least some cops by his bed when he woke up trying to get the full story.

Nobody knew he was Mason Storm except O'Malley a doctor and a few nurses

How so?

They shot Mason Storm in the chest with a shotgun.

It was staged more as a home invasion. Not to mention O'Malley had a witness, the future "big tuna" fisherman Sonny.

Actually every one of you is wrong. Remember the doc came out and said storm was dead, the other cops the hospital left and only then did another cop come and tell O'Malley that Mason storm was alive. As far as everyone knew, and newspaper clippings his girl brought him. Mason storm was dead and ONLY a John Doe in the coma

This is an important point, because it represents a plot hole: Why would they send a hitman to kill a John Doe? They would only do this if they knew it was Mason Storm. And if they knew it was Mason Storm, they could bring him up on charges.

There are no plot holes in any Seagall movie. The corrupt cops found out about it when the nurse contacted the police dept asking for O Malley when he woke up from the coma

The police figured it had to be Mason Storm. I know they thought he was dead but remember Mason was a martial artist. Its very common for these kinds of people to come back to life, sometimes even after several years. I saw a movie called Ninja 3 The Domination. I learned in that movie that only a ninja could kill another ninja. The corrupt cops always knew he'd be back one day
