Antonio

I've always loved Wings and watching it on AntennaTV has completely cleared up a misconception that I have of the series. In my mind Antonio has always been on the show but apparently he doesn't make an appearance until later in season 1 or perhaps starting in season 2 as he hasn't been seen in any of the season 1 episodes that have aired thus far.

I guess I had forgotten that he wasn't a regular until later in the series.

I preferred him as Monk.

Actually I don't think he makes his first appearance until season 3. Such a great character.

He made an appearance in season two as Antonio, Helen and Joe's waiter. Then in season three he explains that the restaurant was shut down after being sued. That's why he started driving a cab. :)

Thanks for that info! He's my favorite character on the show (though probably best taken in small doses). We've just started watching the DVDs, and it's helpful to know when to expect him

@IcingOnTheCake -- I love Tony Shalhoub as Monk myself. But I also love him as Antonio.

When I started to watch Monk, it took me several episodes to get used to Tony Shalhoub NOT talking with an Italian accent! He did it so well.

Antonio is one of my favorite characters. In later episodes he does get bigger story lines. And they are funny! If you just started watching, you are in for a treat when Antonio gets married to stay in the country.

Even though I just started watching the DVDs, I saw pretty much the whole show during its network run, and kinda remember how it goes in general. (Fortunately, though, I seem to have forgotten all the jokes, so I'm enjoying them all over again.)

I just thought you meant that you'd never seen the show and I didn't want to give away anything!

I actually never saw the show during its network run. I started watching it when it was on the USA channel. I thought it was hilarious and couldn't believe that I missed it the first time around.

reply

I agree! I haven't laughed out loud so often in a long while!
