How did Kramer support himself?

We find out late in the series that Kramer has been on strike from the bagel shop for years. Evidently that was his last paying job. It’s also clear he has a litigious nature and lots if money-making ideas but no seed capital. How do you imagine he makes ends meet other than scrounging off of Jerry for food and the odd fortuitous trade (e.g., for Jerry’s juicy van)? He wouldn’t seem to be a trust fund baby because his mom Babs is working a ladies’ room attendant. I’m guessing he is the beneficiary of a lawsuit settlement or some kind of insurance fraud that provides him with a modest monthly payout.
