Who would you CHOOSE to be?
If you could pick any character in the series, complete with their life, personality, etc. Which one would you choose to be?
I would probably want to be Sarah...or Janet...or Hetty.

Muriel Stacey. Well-traveled, educated, modern businesswoman who was also kind, intuitive yet unassuming, and thoughtful.

Who are you carrying all those bricks for?
Probably Sara Stanley, rich, has been around the world, has aspirations of being a writer. I can't really see anything wrong here, with the exception of being orphaned. I could see her hanging out with the lost generation and living it up in the 20s. Olivia once said she was destined for something.
Janet was a wonderful mom, but I don't think I'd be cut out for the amount of sheer work she must have had to do every single day. Washing the floors, the clothes, cooking, taking care of 4 children. Dear god, I'd drop after about a week of that! On the other hand, there is something endearing about a cozy little farm house, a loving husband, and raising a slew of kids.
I've always admired Hetty's lifestyle in a way. Yes she's single, but she's made her own life, she's independent, does what she loves, and still has time to help others out.
Felicity is a bit like her mom in a way, so same thoughts here. The only thing I found disappointing was her decision to give up her medical studies. She has such potential and to give it up for a life as a housewife. Why not wait a few years and then get married? Of course I'm looking back on this from someone who is approaching 30.
In terms of personality? That's tough, I always thought Hetty was a bit closed minded. But sometimes Sara Stanley was just plain naive. I think Janet had a healthy amount of kindness and skepticism.
I would pick Sarah too. I liked her the best.
