What ended up being In Living Color's downfall?

The series was too closely aligned with the Wayans Family and their departure from it caused the quality to slip into unacceptably low ratings levels.

Additionally Jim Carrey's film success and departure made the program far less interesting. The series was never able to replace him and his absence resulted in fewer viewers.

Finally, the series experienced a great deal of difficulty attracting the best and brightest among young comics. Besides Jamie Foxx, none of the replacement comics were talented enough to make the series appealing and cancellation soon ensued.

I always thought it was ironic that the funniest guy on the show was white.
