I don't really get that spatula joke.

I know it's a parody or spoof of some actual ad, and that the point is that spatula is a really mundane item that no one can actually get that excited about, or need more than one (unless you are some weird cook, perhaps).

Buying that many spatulas would be unnecessary, as they don't wear out that quickly.

It's a little funny, but it's a bit long, and in the end, it's just boring.

What I am trying to say, is that I get it 'intellectually', but not 'comedy-wise'. It doesn't make me laugh, although I know what the joke is supposed to be. Therefore, I don't really get it.
