Daniel’s attempt to sweep Barnes

was pathetic. The ease with which Barnes diffuses the threat just shows the gap between them.

0:50.

reply

Yeah, it was poor indeed. Wonder who taught him that?
Oh hang on, it was Silver wasn't it?
Yeah, pathetic.

reply

How did Daniel manage to screw it up? Terry Silver gave him simple instructions.

You posted this at 1.20 am. You should be in bed, it's a school night.

How did Daniel manage to screw it up? Terry Silver gave him simple instructions.

How did Barnes manage to screw the tournament up? Terry Silver gave him simple instructions.

See how that works?

reply

Daniel executed it badly without properly following Silver’s instructions. He didn’t make a strong stance, twist his hip at the end or keep his hands up. It’s no wonder Barnes subdued him so easily.

reply

Following Silvers instructions? Didn't Barnes do that for the tournament?

Yet still lost the tournament

reply

If you think about it Daniel didn't screw it up since Silver was specifically teaching him to make sure he lost to Barnes. And he also was teaching Barnes specifically how to counter anything he showed Daniel.

reply

Yeah, I get that, but a certain idiot doesn't.

reply

You don’t get shit. Daniel was a bad student. After all his practice on the pipe machine and spending all night studying Silver’s book, he still botched the move.

reply

Can't learn Karate from a book.
Furthermore, as was stated, Silver was teaching Daniel to fail.
Did you forget that ?

reply

His sweep lesson in Miyagi’s backyard was legit. Daniel’s attempt at Barnes showed none of the technique Silver had taught him. He was a poor athlete and his shortcomings were exposed.

Seems like you are trying to convince yourself more than anything else.

He was a poor athlete and his shortcomings were exposed.

And yet he beat Barnes in the end eh?
Go figure.

reply

Considering all the narrative attention paid to sweeping, Daniel’s botched attempt seemed curiously anticlimactic. Perhaps Avilsden was highlighting his lack of skills to further the audience’s contempt for him.

reply

Perhaps Avilsden was purposefully highlighting his limitations to further the audience’s contempt for him.
Or to make Barnes look better than he was.

reply

Your clueless.

reply

You're not very good at this are you?
You see, without your gang you are fuck all. Just another dickhead trying to act big and failing miserably

reply

like Daniel at the beach party?

reply

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying...You are like Daniel at the beach party.

reply

So you’re comparing somebody to Daniel as an insult.

This is a watershed moment.

reply

Not the first time.

Keep up

reply

You’re basically conceding defeat. I rest my case. Fare thee well Wears Alan.

reply

You’re basically conceding defeat.
How so?

I rest my case.
What case is that?

Fare thee well Wears Alan.
Are you leaving?

reply

No Terry was teaching Daniel sound technique. Had LaRusso paid attention instead of whining “why do I have to do this?!” every 5 seconds he might have learned something and succeeded.

reply

No Terry was teaching Daniel sound technique.
That he primed Barnes for.

Had LaRusso paid attention instead of whining “why do I have to do this?!” every 5 seconds he might have learned something and succeeded.

Are you stupid? Why would Silver teach him something that could help him win against Barnes?

What a dope!

reply

He was teaching him moves he didn’t have… techniques he needed to win the tournament. You think he could have relied on that crane crap?

reply

He was teaching him moves he didn’t have

He also made Barnes aware of those moves.

… techniques he needed to win the tournament.

What? He didn't want him to win the tournament. Are being deliberately obtuse or are you just stupid?

You think he could have relied on that crane crap?

No. Miyagi didn't think so either. Which is why he taught him the Kata so he could release his best Karate. Before you bother to deride this, just remember....it worked!

reply

You think Daniel displayed an example of “best karate” in the tournament?

reply

No, I think in sudden death he let HIS best Karate out.

reply

If a kata and a Hail Mary fake-out flip move to get saved by the buzzer so he wouldn’t end up with Barnes foot on his throat was Daniels ‘best’ karate it was poor indeed.

reply

You posted at 5.40 am. You really should have gotten more sleep if that's your best shot.

It worked didn't it?
It foiled Silvers plan didn't it?
Oh, and it made Barnes look inept and foolish too.

reply

At the end of the day Silver is still a billionaire businessman Barnes showed Daniel what pain and fear was in front of a 1000 people and Daniel and Miyagi spent the next 6 weeks squatting in the restroom for fear of getting jumped in the car lot.

reply

At the end of the day Silver is still a billionaire businessman

Well it was never the plan for him to lose all of his money was it?

Barnes showed Daniel what pain and fear was in front of a 1000 people

And Daniel flipped him like a pancake, made him look a fool and retained his title in front of 1000 people.

and Daniel and Miyagi spent the next 6 weeks squatting in the restroom for fear of getting jumped in the car lot.

No. You just wish that had happened.

reply

How did Barnes screw up? He won a point and lost a point to ensure the match lasted as long as possible to prolong Daniels suffering. Daniel felt pain in every part of his body and fear in every part of his mind right in front of a 1000 people. Seems to me Barnes succeeded.

reply

How did Barnes screw up?

He lost!

Seems to me Barnes succeeded.

Then you missed the point didn't you!

reply

You even admitted previously that for all intents and purposes Terry Silver succeeded. What sense of pride did Daniel leave the tournament with? A fucking plastic trophy? He lost his dignity and self worth during his whiny little bitch-beating and suffered the abject humiliation of a nervous breakdown! Daniel was so low he wouldn’t even be accepted into your Wears Alan Imaginary McDojo after his pitiful showing.

reply

Barnes lost. That wasn't the plan.

Had LaRusso paid attention instead of whining “why do I have to do this?!” every 5 seconds he might have learned something and succeeded.

Succeeded? He won the match. He also went on to own a successful car dealership. What did Barnes do? End up owning 50% of Dojos that never materialised, that's what.

reply

Maybe you haven’t head but Cobra Kai is back. Barnes is gonna get his 50% too. From now one when people come to this board all they will see is cobra Kai karate… John Kreeses karate! You won’t even be a memory WA!

reply

Head?

Barnes is gonna get his 50% too.
Nope.

From now one when people come to this board all they will see is cobra Kai karate… John Kreeses karate!
One?
So what you are saying is that so far they haven't seen genuine Cobra Kai Karate...just you playing at it with your sock accounts.

You won’t even be a memory WA!
Lol.
