Could Terry Silver sue Daniel for not paying?

Terry Silver gave Daniel a series of one-on-one karate lessons.

Personalized instruction from a martial arts master like Terry Silver would have easily been $500 a session back in 1985.

Silver was likely concerned after a while when Daniel was still coming into the dojo without paying... he was trying to be tactful and not ask for any money outright.

However, it was low for Daniel to cancel his remaining courses with Silver and not give him the back-pay he owed him for the lessons... he gave some BS excuse like he would pay him the money once he actually has some lol.

Terry Silver should have sued Daniel and his mother for all their meager future earnings to pay him back for all those classes.

reply

This could very well be a Cobra Kai season four plot point with the writers tying up loose ends from KKIII. We should also expect confirmation that Jessica was working for Silver all along.

No. That there is pure fantasy.

Silver was likely concerned after a while when Daniel was still coming into the dojo without paying... he was trying to be tactful and not ask for any money outright.

Except unlike Kreese, Daniel was not his friend so he would have had no problem setting out the terms if monetary cost was involved. As it turned out the currency Silver was interested in was Daniels pain and he got that in spades.

However, it was low for Daniel to cancel his remaining courses with Silver and not give him the back-pay he owed him for the lessons... he gave some BS excuse like he would pay him the money once he actually has some lol.

This would imply that said sessions were even booked. Furthermore he doesn't say he will pay him the money when he has some. this is what he says and Silvers reply cuts him off:

I'm sorry.

I thought the lessons were free, but...

No. Nothing's for free.

You are going to defend.

You're getting in that ring.

Terry Silver should have sued Daniel and his mother for all their meager future earnings to pay him back for all those classes.

As was already said, the currency was Daniels pain and he paid that debt in full.

reply

No. That there is pure fantasy.

How much would he charge then?

Except unlike Kreese, Daniel was not his friend so he would have had no problem setting out the terms if monetary cost was involved.

Terry was an honorable and wealthy man and didn't need to draw attention to the fact that Daniel didn't pay him yet. I mean what would you do if a student kept coming in for lessons without paying? Try to be tactful I hope.

Furthermore he doesn't say he will pay him the money when he has some.

Even worse then.

reply

How much would he charge then?

Not $500 per session, and certainly nowhere near that in 1985 (year movie is set). He's not a big cheese in the martial arts world. He's a big cheese in dumping toxic waste.

So let me get this straight. You think Terry Silver is able to charge Daniel $500 per session but doesn't tell him this because...what? He's an honourable man? Really? You really are a fool!
As for me, any one training with me knows the cost from the moment they join. They know exactly what costs what. It's called Transparency.

Even worse then

Silver cuts him off before he can offer anything in way of payment. Or are you being wilfully ignorant...again?

reply

How much do you charge for lessons exactly? Maybe I’ll sign up for some before revealing my identity when your in a vulnerable position and giving you a Barnes type beat down.

reply

You've already asked this. What, got no new material?
You will never come to my club and you know it. But the part where you would be sneaky in your attempts rather than face me like a man is indicative of how low the on line Kai is right now, Mistah Coward!
Furthermore, you are as far away from giving me (or anyone else for that matter) a Barnes type beat down as you are geographically from me right now.
Now stop being a cunt!

reply

In the interest of discussion, how much do you charge for lessons?

Or did you just show up to the dojo one day like :” I work for free!”

reply

"I work for free!"

I even thought of a name! "Wears Alan's Little Karate Dojo" It's simple direct catchy! This is WA's dream! If anyone can make it work I know he can!

reply

See previous answer.

reply

Or did you just show up to the dojo one day like :” I work for free!”

Plagiarism at its' finest

reply

Answer the question punk.

reply

Get yourself along like you promised and I'll give you a lesson for free.

reply

Wears Alan claims he works for free to get people to sign up for his karate lessons. Then he makes them do slave labor claiming that it is karate lessons in disguise. Then he forces his underage students to drink alcohol and then makes them tuck him in at night. Terrible!

reply

You got all that from me offering a free lesson?
Sherlock Holmes has nothing on you Kicked-Arse.

reply

Hope the authorities wise up to his scam. Perhaps we should file a report.

reply

No he couldn't.

reply

Depends on the statute of limitations. During the days of Cobra Kai Terry could try to sue Daniel for unpaid lessons plus interest. Unfortunately, during the Karate Kid III era Daniel cannot be sued because he had zero assets and no cash whatsoever.

reply

Whineielle should make restitution for the dojo mat he peed on.

reply

Whinielle was confirmed as urinating on the cobra Kai dojo mat. Do you think he also peed a little during the tournament fight with Barnes.? Seems he would surely lose control of his bladder again given the physical beating and complete mental breakdown he had.

reply

Which has exactly what to do with whether or not Silver could sue him for those lessons?
Pay attention for fucks sake. I mean it is your original post after all.

reply

What would you do WA if one of your students got weeks on intense training at your club and then turned out his pockets and hung his head in shame when asked for payment?

reply

Again, you are confusing real life and a movie. Terry silver offers to train Daniel. If payment was expected then the terms should have been stated in advance. When someone comes to train with me they know the cost beforehand.

reply

Nothings free don’t you know that? Now answer the question.

reply

Never said it was free.
Silver offered to train Daniel and Daniel took him up on the offer. At this point the terms should have been set.
As for your question it was answered see. 'When someone comes to train with me they know the cost beforehand.'
Payment is on arrival. No pay, no play!

reply

What if the payment bounces? Then what would you do?

reply

Cash only. So no worries on that score.

reply

Silver could afford the best legal team in the state of California whereas Daniel would depend Miyagi for representation. How far would those Okinawan street smarts get him in court?

reply

About as far as WA when he was sentenced to 2 back to back life sentences for shutting down IMDB

reply

I thought that was BeatenDownn!

reply

Wears has a long history of having multiple accounts.

reply

BeattenDown was one of a kind.

Best performance artist in the history of the Web.

reply

Where would it get him in court?
It wouldn't go to court

reply

That’s a lie. A karate dojo that only accepts cash… yeah right. You don’t even have a credit card machine? Do you make little Timmy count out his pennies on the table before you let him into class?

reply

That’s a lie. A karate dojo that only accepts cash… yeah right

I only know of one dojo in this town that doesn't (there are at least 10 dojos in town). They do it all through direct debit and you must sign up for a year, meaning that if little 'Timmy' gets bored with it after two months then leaves, the next ten months are still to pay for. Im sure even an ignoramus like yourself can work out that this is the least popular dojo in town.

You don’t even have a credit card machine?

Don't need one.

Do you make little Timmy count out his pennies on the table before you let him into class?

No. His mother or father does that.

reply

I can imagine little Timmy bringing his piggy bank to the dojo and cheerfully emptying out his change and counting up to the necessary $6.75 he needs to enter your class. Then he realizes he’s 4 pennies (er.. tuppence) short and you scream at him for being a freeloader and make him run away in tears.

reply

why would he bring his piggy bank? He could do that at home.

Then he realizes he’s 4 pennies (er.. tuppence) short and you scream at him for being a freeloader and make him run away in tears.

4 pennies is four pence, 2 pennies is tuppence. Wouldn't scream at him (that would be sinking to your level). If he ran away in tears then he obviously doesn't have it in him to be a karateka.

reply

So if little Timmy brought his Piggy Bank and counted up his savings but was 2 pence short would you still let him in the class or turn him away and publicly humiliate him for being poor?

reply

That's between little Timmy and me. None of your business what I would or wouldn't do.
Now begone, your trolling has failed...again.

reply

Answer the question. I believe you would pull Timmy in front of the rest of the class and berate him for not having enough money for the class.

reply

Answer the question. I believe you would pull Timmy in front of the rest of the class and berate him for not having enough money for the class.

Seeing as you believe what you believe then it makes no difference what my answer is. My answer remains the same. It's none of your business.

reply

So you refuse to answer. That’s means you can’t continue… that means I win!

reply

Are you blind? I did answer. I'll answer again, this time in capitals so you can see it.
IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

Thinking about signing up.

reply

Stop thinking and start doing.

reply

Wait WA….. would you let little Timmy into your class even if he’s a tuppence short in payment because of the goodness of your heart? You’d cover the cost yourself by producing your own tuppence from your money box so that little Timmy can have his karate lesson?

reply

NONE

reply

If I decide to take a karate lesson from you I need to know this. Why aren’t you transparent with your payment policies? Must be a shady business you are running..

reply

If you decided to take a Karate lesson with me (which you never will) you will have all the information about payment policies. Just like everyone who trains with me has. Seeing as you will never do this I can only assume that you are a nosey cunt.
Fuck off with you.

The next time I’m in England, I’m going to put aside a day to travel to Devon and sign up for a class. Then you’re gonna find out what pain and fear really mean, right in front of a dozen people.

reply

You do that. While you're in Devon you will probably bump in to Mike Leverton. He's the chief instructor for the EKO in North Devon and a good friend of mine.

You didn’t want to show up in neutral territory in Harrods so I’ll meet you on your own turf.

Except I live about 350 miles from Devon you moron.

Your day of reckoning is coming.

If that was even remotely true, you wouldn't be planning to go to Devon.
