Everyone should have a friend like Mr. Terry Silver

Sensei John Kreese. A true war hero and decorated Veteran who proudly served his country. Being the hero that he is, he saves the life of one of his subordinates numerous times during the hell that was Vietnam. Because of this, Mr. Terry Silver pays Sensei Kreese back by giving him the capital to start living his dream, owning a karate dojo to teach young wayward kids the values of honesty, compassion, and fair play.

Sometime later, after having great success in many tournaments, Sensei Kreese's world comes tumbling down, after an illegal kick by a lone student of a mystery dojo wearing a stolen belt breaks the rules to win the All Valley Tournament. With his students gone, his dojo empty, his motivation depleted, and his pockets empty, he goes to his good friend Mr. Terry Silver to give him the dojo keys and a promise to pay the back rent.

Mr. Terry Silver, a great man with a great heart, will have none of that, as he immediately wipes Sensei John Kreese's debt, puts him on a plane to Tahiti, so he can gain peace of mind and clarity, and even find love with Mamone, a native woman.

We should all try to be like Mr. Terry Silver, and if we can't, we should find our own version to lend a helping hand when the chips are down

Well said. Young people need role models to inspire them, which is why the preservation of this film so important. Terry Silver’s triumphs in the business world are a blueprint for young entrepreneurs. His generosity as a friend and employer helped Kreese, Snake, Dennis and Milos all find balance and purpose. When he eventually re-emerges on Cobra Kai, it will be as Secretary General of the United Nations.

Well said Ragmann.

Terry Silver is the kind of exemplary human being we should all aspire to be.

He is a karate master, war hero, employer, and loyal friend.

Terry Silver firmly believe that when you get.. you GIVE.

He was about to open a dozen Cobra Kai dojos all over the Valley, and teach students (for free) the values of honesty compassion.... and fair play.

Unfortunately, those evil bastard fucks Whinielle and Miyagay ruined everything and it wasn't until 30 years later that Johnny get Cobra Kai off the ground again.

What kills me that some people on this board don't understand that Whinielle and Miyagay were the bad guys!
