A butthead like Biff winning EVERY bet for years..

...doesn't raise the curiosity of ANYONE??? "Luckiest man alive" my butt!!! LMAO!!! Him betting over and over and nailing every pick, even those unfathomable upsets, would've raised all kinds of ire, and questions. They likely would've changed the betting process, especially if this bozo is nailing every single one, again, for years on end. I doubt he'd be smart enough to tank a few times just to keep the suspicious types off his back.

I'm surprised the authorities didn't investigate and it didn't justify any conspiracy theories.

He didn't win every bet. He was planning to but one of his men explained that would raise too much suspicion. So he made sure he bets would lose every 3rd, 4th, or 5th time, mixing it up so there would be no trend. When one is able to win every time if they want then losing part of the time is insignificant. He was still a big overall winner over the course of time, as we see in the movie. Even Biff wasn't too dumb to realize that.

Nowhere does it say he bet on every result.

He was obviously selective with his picks and then used his winnings to make more money by setting up his own companies.

I was thinking the same thing. The whole thing reminds me of the Michael Larson story...

My guess, he probably "lost" more games than won, but placed unimaginable wagers for the ones he did win, which named him "the luckiest man on Earth."

reply

I'm pretty sure young Biff bet on the winner every time. He was a pretty stellar idiot.

reply

I foresee 2 possibilities:

1) Biff did bet on the winners a number of times, but interspersed those wins with losses, so as to keep away suspicion.

2) Maybe he did win everytime, and was investigated on possible insider information...but being as how he probably hid the almanac, the investigations turned up nothing, and most just chalked him up to being 'the luckiest man on earth.'

Once he got his reputation as a consistent winner, the bookmakers would be wary and he'd have trouble getting action.

reply

Yeah at the very least the mob would have taken notice but then again as long as he kept the almanac safe that's the only that can link to anything but then Biff became a gangster himself.

reply

I always thought he won on a few selective local bets before winning it big on his 21 birthday. He probably invested the money into his businesses and enterprises. That is where his real wealth came from. The early bets only made him famous and got him the connections he needed to succeed.

reply

He probably managed to make a few very big bets for a while before the bookies stopped taking his action and the video specifically said "he parlayed that luck into Biffco".

Considering it's Biff, he could have set up stooges to place bets all around the country then eliminate them just as he planned to eliminate Marty when he showed up in the future.
