shareWhat's crazy is that he didn't get a farewell episode.
shareWaldo was such a presence on the show that I always remember him being there for a lot longer then he was. Like I know he wasn't in the 96-97 season but I keep swearing that he was....he was let off the show far too early for a character of his stature.
shareI remember a few years ago I saw on twitter the actor said his contract wasn't renewed.
shareNo doubt he was let go for budget reasons because certain people were asking more money.

Waldo was never really needed. All of a sudden he was Eddie's best friend. Remember when some white dude was Eddie's only friend in the first season?
The whole show got too over the top for my taste, to be honest.
I was actually glad that Rodney disappeared, because he was such a jerk and never even one bit funny. Waldo worked a lot better.
shareWaldo was a bully, it didn't make sense that he was suddenly Eddie and Urkel's best friend.
My problem with Waldo is the same problem I have with Urkel.
Waldo wasn't a bully, he was only a bully's sidekick. Besides, it took a while before he was fully established as Eddy's and Steve's friend.
What is your problem with Steve then?
He bullied right along. There was no explanation whatsoever why he suddenly switched sides.
Urkel was way too over the top and cartoonish.
Maybe there was no proper explanation for the switch, but it worked for me. The bully character was gone, but they still wanted to keep Waldo. So he was turned into Eddy's and Steve's friend. It is true that nobody ever brought up his history as the bully's sidekick, but that is '90s TV shows for you. Writers seemed to never remember what their own characters had done or said earlier on.
