When I saw her on the show I called everyone I knew. Hah-hah.
I met one of the officers who appeared on the show, but that's about it. Never personally knew any suspects on the show.

shareYou might not have seen this one as it's from season 25, but he was an officer for The Toledo Police Department in Ohio. His name is Adam Eilerts. He and his partner were called to a fight between two women. Both were going to jail except for the one was delayed due to an injury that required medical care. He was in the Marines for 15-20 years before joining the department. He retired earlier this year and moved to Florida. When I met him, he was a community police officer, which are those that go around patrolling and talking to citizens in the community. He once had the highest number of arrests and once had a knee injury while dealing with a suspect who was a drug user. Great guy.
shareI don't think I know who Adam Eilerts is, I have seen a couple of Toledo, Ohio episodes from that time period but don't remember what happened on these episodes, I have been to Toledo before while visiting my cousin in Michigan, that is really cool you've gotten to meet Officer Eilerts and that he was a great guy along with a great police officer, I didn't watch COPS a whole lot during seasons 25-26, that is too bad about him having a knee injury while dealing with a suspect who was a drug user.

shareMy brother and his wife live in Lansing. They have their rough areas, but they live in a pretty safe neighborhood. There was a theft in the area that were done by kids that he had to intervene in. They were pretty much scared straight by the parents. Toledo has had a large number of homicides these past 10 years, but many of them are in the inner-city neighborhoods and quite a few of them are gang-related.
