Remake with normal size actors?

After seeing how well normal size actors worked in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit what do you guys think about not using dwarfs if they ever did a remake?

First of all, I believe they preferred to be called "little people". Second, not having "little people" in the movie would've missed the whole point of the story.

that is not true.
The little people were actually supposed to represent normal sized folk, while the normal sized folk were supposed to be giants.
read the trivia

Yes, but how many giants do you hear about? People over 7 or 8 feet tall. Don't hear much about them, do you? As for little people, there's quite a few. Therefore, it was easier to find short actors than huge ones.

reply

Uh, no... They prefer to be called "pecks". Duh, didn't you watch the movie?

reply

It's bull that they are supposed to be of 'normal' size and it certainly doesn't say so in the trivia.

No, part of the endearing charm of this film are the little people actors. Many familiar faces like Tony Cox and the legendary Billy Barty.

Of course the technology exists, but if they could find another actor like Warwick Davis they wouldn't need to use it.

Not that there's any overwhelming need to remake this film, which received a lukewarm reception on release and which doesn't seem to be all that fondly remembered.
