I hate this film because it is sticky with nauseating sentimentality. It is a fantasy, a romantic fantasy bearing no resemblance to the real world. Not all movies need to replicate some form of realism, but not every person needs to bend over and be *beep* in the ass by this overbearing tripe.

Your general attack against those who dislike the film is simply a way for you to feel better about your own insecurity. It seems to me your alleged love for this thing is so feeble you can bear the thought of other people having a different perspective on it.

Congratulations.

I don't hate it. don't like it much either. It is too sentimental and pulls too relentlessly at the heartstrings. it's very manipulative. all it lacks is a loveable hairy dog. Also i was shocked that the hero hadn't gone home for so many years. What kind of Italian son doesn't go to see his mother?

I don't hate this film, but that's a pretty stupid thing to say.
