This movie had one good moment in that and thats the hit on the train. The rest of the movie was very cheesy along with the nicknames. Tony "The Tiger" Russo may be the lamest mafia nickname i've ever heard.

Dude, it's a freaking comedy, not a serious mob movie. It's hilarious.

It is indeed supposed to be a comedy. The problem is it is not very funny to anyone with any sophistication in their sense of humor. People who laugh at anything will of course laugh at it. It has some redeeming qualities, particularly the great appeal of Michelle Pfeiffer at that time in her career.

Well it's a comedy and comedy is so subjective. I liked it. I found it funny and it has great acting and a fun plot.

As far as cheese goes, this brand here is undoubtedly amongst some of the best... you don´t need to be a mouse in order to dig cheese you know.

And maybe Stockwell´s name´s got something to do with Tony Montana and his tiger in Scarface...

Agreed. I'm watching it again on cable and realized "god, this movie is just horrible!"

I agree this movie is horrible. Pfieffer can be very good but in this film with the hair and the terrible accent she was just awful.

This movie is actually pretty good. I think the problem is that the scenes with Michelle Pfieffer & Matthew Modine were too "serious", and the scenes with the actual mob were hilarious. It was like watching a romantic drama and then 15 minutes later, the mob would pop up and it would take away from the other story. It was like watching two different movies that weren't threaded together as smoothly as possible.

Still, it's a pretty good movie. I own it, and I watch it whenever it's on cable.

Tony & his crazy wife Connie were HILARIOUS. I wish they had featured Merecedes Rheul a lot more in the movie. Alec Baldwin was also great, though he wasn't in it very long. Ladies, if you ever wondered what a young Alec Baldwin looked like in tight briefs, rent this movie.
