Minor plothole

I know that in a cartoony, farcical film like this, it's easy to let plotholes aside but I still can't help but bring this up. When Jack sees Cheryl being held hostage by Mr. Big's goons via the binoculars, he tells Slade and Slammer that he doesn't see Mr. Big. And yet later on, when he finally sees Mr. Big in person, Jack is surprised that it's him. When Jack initially said "I don't see Mr. Big!", we're supposed to assume that he knows what Mr. Big looks like. But during that final confrontation, Jack acts like he's never seen Mr. Big before.

Maybe he doesn't see Mr. Big because Jack doesn't know what he looks like.
