Why did it bother him so much that the wrong table was selected at the restaurant?


And he was going mad and wanting to fire that waiter as a result, even if he was stressed out and on drugs, why was it such a huge deal for him in that scene and at that moment, thanks.

You said it yourself, he was stressed out and on drugs.

Also, he was ridiculously insecure and always looking for every conceivable edge

Basically, he wanted to feel like a winner again, which is why he paid the maitre D' $20 for his "old table"

It's a silly way to get a "boost," but that's the point
