The reports of my cancellation have been greatly exaggerated

Per Diane English via Twitter:

Murphy Brown fans. We are NOT CANCELED!!!!! Several entertainment sites read a mid season schedule put out by CBS that did not have our show on it and the assumption was made that we were not renewed. Our order, at our request was 13 eps. We look forward to a second season.

Calm down, Murphsters. The sky isn't falling. Notice that the show has better ratings than S.W.A.T., which appeared on the mid season schedule. Don't believe everything you read.

Exactly. It simply didn't get an extended season this year, sticking with its plan, and another show will be returning for an also short season for the January-May session. They really jumped to conclusions here. Maybe it won't get a second season, a renewal wasn't announced either, but no news is just no news.
