Del's Black Eye

You might notice at the end of the movie that Del has a black eye.

I did.

I realized that there was a scene cut from the movie.

Turns out that in the original script they are at the courthouse and detained when their burnt out car is impounded.

Neal is told by Del that the rental car, which he took out on his credit card, has no insurance on it.

So Neal punches Del in the eye.

All that was taken out, but the make up of the black eye, obviously, couldn't be edited.

Today they would just CGI it out, but they didn't have that technology in 1987.
