The Braidwood Inn

OK a few questions:

1) What is an overnight discount card?
2) Why was Gus charging them for a double yet they only had one bed?
3) If Gus was overcharging them for the room but with the discount it “comes out even” then what was the point of the discount card?

I realize this scene is necessary because they had to find a way to get Neal’s credit card in Del’s wallet but the entire transaction doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

2) Well, here in the UK at least, a 'double' would be a room with one double-bed. Two beds would be 'twin'.

I've wondered about 1 & 3 myself every time I've watched the film!

reply

I see, and that would make sense except Neal was shocked to find out there was only one bed in the room.

reply

Hmm. Maybe Neal just assumed that by 'double' Gus meant 'twin', it never occurring to him that they'd actually share a bed (and I'm laughing at that scene again as I type this!).

reply

LOL, the camera pans around the room then it quickly moves back to the bed and zooms in on it, hahahaha

reply

Wonderful!
