A Brilliant Take-down of Faux-Feminist Simps and Their Duplicity

When I was younger, I used to sympathise more with William Hurt's polite, charming, inoffensive, if not particularly smart, anchorman, Tom, over Albert Brooks' rude, brash, superior and obnoxious (especially in the early prologue scene, which put me off him from the start) field reporter, Aaron, contrary to what many film critics were suggesting we feel, at the time of the film's release.

But as I've gotten older, I've come to see that those critics were right (albeit, possibly not for the reasons they may have intended; conversely, critics back then, including female critics, like the brilliant Pauline Kael, were much more independently-minded, much more intelligent, and much less likely to simp for whatever PC cultural fad was the order of the day). William Hurt's character may seem nicer, and there's something initially sweet about his *apparent* self-effacing attitude towards his lack of intelligence, BUT he's a fucking fraud, whereas Albert Brooks' genuinely smart character makes no apology for what he is (UNLIKE so many WEAK and FAKE men today 😠👊🏼).

Aaron rightly calls out his love-rival's bullshit SIMPING report on date-rape: "I think you really blew the lid off of nookie", and groans in audible disgust when Tom is seen 'shedding a tear' on camera, during his 'report'. And he is *further* vindicated when it later is revealed that Tom *faked* his tear (since there was only one camera during the shoot, and there are outtakes in storage showing that the shot of him 'welling up' was in fact staged). This film has found a lot of favour with many feminists over the years, partly because they respond to Holly Hunter's lead character, Jane, and that's a good thing (I welcome their praise of this brilliant movie), but it's worth bearing in mind that whilst all the women in the newsroom are having their 'heartstrings pulled' over Tom's 'empathetic' and 'feminist' story, Aaron is using his calm, logical, rational, analytical, practical, non-simping, non-emotional, non-weak brain to call out the underlying bullshit. As any *mature adult* who's been around the block knows (and it took my naive, simping ass sometime to get there), men who proclaim their 'feminism' the loudest, are often the *worst*.

I wonder how many of today's supposedly 'smart' woke pretty-boy feminists, like, say, Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling, actually saw this film (a depressing trend in Hollywood is *how little* actors actually pay attention to other people's films; few of them actually care about CINEMA, but are far more interested in their CAREER and pushing their own PROFILE), and realised that the film was lambasting *THEM*. Any man who wears a 'This Is What a Feminist Looks Like' t-shirt, should NOW be viewed with the upmost suspicion, particularly if you're a lady.

Don't fall for their BS nonsense. If their simping *seems* too good to be true, *whisper it* it's probably too good to be true.

As an aside, it's interesting to note that a lot of modern (read: 'feminist') film critics, including fans of this film, have let the film's point fly completely over their heads, lambasting Aaron as a 'Nice Guy' or an 'incel'.

Well, heck, maybe Aaron is an 'incel', but the FACT that he was RIGHT, and is the SMARTEST character in the film, should maybe tell you all a FUCKING thing or two, dumb-dumbs.

PS: Stick your FALSE 'emotional intelligence' up your ass. Broadcast News' Tom exposed your nicey-nicey 'I love women. They're so much better than us' BULLSHIT. 😠 We NOW know all about the Bill 'serial sex offender' Clintons of the world, thank you very much.

I DON'T RAPE. I DON'T ABUSE. I DON'T GASLIGHT. I DON'T ASSAULT. I DON'T HIT. I DON'T HARASS. I DON'T MOLEST. I DON'T LETCH. I DON'T HAVE AFFAIRS. I DON'T CREEP. AND I SURE AS SHIT DON'T FUCKING SIMP. 😠

Wow, you must have felt good after getting all that out. Like taking a huge, angry, bitter shit.

And congratulations on finally figuring out the characters the way you were always supposed to.
