Isn't if funny that Capt. Steve Nelson was a parody of Leslie Neilson (as Commander Adams) in Forbidden Planet.
And then Neilson went on to become the main character parodying others in most of the ZAZ productions.

Surely Neilson was already doing parody before this.

Perhaps, but he was a serious actor when he was younger.
