favorite episodes

Though there will always be those few stories you don't like as well, I thought every one of these is worthy of a good review. A gold mine for stories, all the cursed objects were entertaining with good special effects and the Curious Goods team chemistry was perfect - so here are my faves:

"Tales of the Undead" a retired comic book writer his first issue contains the curse by making its character come to life. - love comic's and Ray Walston as Jacob Starinski was the perfect choice.

"The Baron's Bride" a cursed cape clasp transports Micki & Ryan back to 19th century London where they meet Mr. & Mrs. Bram Stoker. - love story, done well

"Bedazzled" though the Curious Goods team manage to get the cursed lantern safely back into the vault, the previous owners come looking for it. - my favorite of all the episodes, great story leaves Micki alone to babysit and face fear, suspense and murder on a stormy night that knock out the phone lines. Jonah sends chills up my spine, and so glad Richie and Micki work together to stop him. cute ending too.

"The Pirate's Promise" a cursed foghorn calls a pirate's ghost who is hunting down the ancestors of his mutinied crew. - super scary story well done and good special effects. McBride looks frightening and wonderful.

"13 O'Clock" a cursed watch creates an extra hour for the beholder to exist in alone and do what they wish. - intriguing good story makes me wonder what I would do with that extra hour.

"Eye of Death" an antique dealer by way of a cursed lantern is able to transport back to famous battlefield's and pick up artifacts for his auctions. - great premise and wonderful story, Ryan ending up in the history book blew me away.

"Mesmer's Bauble" a man who admires a famous singer suddenly becomes her manager after finding the cursed bauble that was forgotten in a jewelry store heist. - just an ok story and the guy was kinda awful but him eventually turning into her was the very last thing that I was expecting. I love surprises.

"Wedding in Black" the arrival of a large snow globe sends the Curious Goods team into its setting. Fab story, imaginative and well done.

"Year of the Monkey" Micki, Johnny and Jack search for three monkey statues to trade for a cursed tea set. - excellent story well done and quite startling. really like Steve Monarque. loved LeMay and thought he would be hard to replace but Monarque did a great job, warmed up to him fast and liked his chemistry with Roby.

"The Long Road Home" with car trouble, Micki and Johnny end up in a farm house that practices taxidermy. Just loved that Micki and Johnny got closer I think we all were hoping for this, the horrible stuffed parents were gross and wonderful. this whole hour you are sitting at the edge of your chair, the surprise of Johnny's death and then one of the few times the cursed object has to be used to bring him back, I loved the effect when the charm would spin as it worked. and at the end totally stressed out watching you delightfully lose track forgetting about grandpa who the charm brings back and watch in amazement as he steps into the trap that scatters his stuffing around in the wind! Frighting and Fabulous.

Loved this show! It was a great way to marry the freedom of an anthology setup for supernatural stories with the strength of a recurring team. I loved when it was re-run on SciFi channel. My roommate and I would stay up to watch and sometimes they did episodes every night during October, plus special runs for a Friday the 13th.

My favorites included the premiere episode (The Doll?), if for no other reason than getting the ball rolling and seeing a young Sarah Polley. I loved “The Long Road Home” also because it was flat our creepy. But my very favorite is “Scarecrow,” particularly for the scene where the scarecrow is hiding under the covers and suddenly sits up.

Thanks for reminding me!

"Scarecrow'' was excellent and I liked that Ryan, reminded of his younger brother became close with the poor boy who witnessed his father's horrible death.

Tales of the Undead for me if only because Ray Walston stole the show.

What a Mother Wouldn’t Do - for some reason this one scared the hell out of me.
